Elik Álvarez
Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Elik Álvarez is a Los Angeles-based composer recognized for his contributions to over 80 films, television series, and documentaries. Recent projects include scoring the two-time Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series Super League: The War for Football and the Emmy-nominated HBO Max documentary To the Street. Álvarez also composed for the feature film The Exorcism of God (Saban Films/Lionsgate) and the docu-series Preaching Evil: A Wife on The Run with Warren Jeffs (Peacock). His extensive credits include the 2019 International Emmy nominee The Other Side of The Wall (Telemundo/Peacock), Robert Redford’s documentary series America The Beautiful (Travel Channel), and Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio (Telemundo/Netflix), which earned him an ASCAP Screen Award.
Álvarez has a notable association with Sir David Attenborough, contributing scores to several groundbreaking documentaries such as the Lumiere Award-winning and BAFTA-nominated Conquest of the Skies 3D, IMAX Galapagos: Nature’s Wonderland, and Kingdom of Plants 3D. For Kingdom of Plants 3D, he received the Best Documentary Score at the International Film Music Festival Provincia de Cordova.
Álvarez has also worked extensively in animation, composing for series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Yu-Gi-Oh!. Additional credits include his compositions for the video game Contra: Rogue Corps (KONAMI), the documentary Harry & Snowman (Netflix), and the Venezuelan film Papita, Maní, Tostón (HBO Latino), for which he received an HMMA nomination for Best Original Score – Independent Film (Foreign Language). His forthcoming collaborations are set to make significant waves, featuring multiple television projects with the production company Hello Sunshine, all eagerly anticipated for release in 2024.
