Hugo de Chaire is a distinguished British-born film composer based in Los Angeles and known for his dynamic and evocative scores. He has worked with directors such as Academy Award-nominated James Dearden (Fatal Attraction), Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Dark Places, Crooked House), and Academy Award-winning Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, Downton Abbey).

Born in Norwich, England, de Chaire's passion for music began at an early age. He started playing drums and saxophone at seven and by nine, he was already composing and performing his own music. A graduate of Kingston University, de Chaire made a name for himself as a DJ in the vibrant London club scene before transitioning full-time to composition. 

Throughout his career, de Chaire has had the privilege of recording with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras. These include the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Deutsche Symphony at Teldex, the Max Steiner Orchestra at Synchron Stage in Vienna, and the London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

De Chaire’s portfolio features scores for a variety of notable projects. He is credited with the upcoming documentary The Conqueror: Hollywood Fallout, Sony Pictures’ Crooked House (starring Glenn Close and Gillian Anderson), and the Cassian Elwes-produced Nine Bullets (featuring Sam Worthington and Lena Headey). His work also includes the sci-fi feature Capsule and NBCUniversal’s Blenheim Palace: Great War House, narrated by Julian Fellowes, among other projects.

De Chaire skillfully combines classical and modern sensibilities, creating musical narratives that resonate with both audiences and critics alike. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
